Scott Hardin, Founder
Scott Hardin helps high school students raise their test scores, sharpen their academic performance and improve their lives. Scott is a holistic, approachable tutor who brings an impressive academic track record and uncanny ability to understand teenagers to his work. Tutoring since 2009, Scott has coached thousands of students to improve their academic performance while also helping to raise their confidence and reduce test anxiety. Scott isn’t just a tutor. As much mentor as expert, he genuinely cares about each client and speaks truth to his students about their challenges and opportunities.
Scott attended high school at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, and graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in Economics in 1997. After Duke, Scott worked his way up to enterprise consulting roles with IBM, managing relationships with Fortune 500 companies including Cox Enterprises, Lockheed-Martin, and Siemens. The desire to be his own boss became stronger with each passing year, and Scott left the corporate world in ---- to found a coffee business focusing on office espresso service. While the Great Recession created trouble for many entrepreneurs, it fortunately gave Scott the nudge he needed to build a meaningful business based on his natural talents and gifts. As a result, Scott began tutoring in 2009, and hasn’t looked back. Growing entirely through word of mouth referrals, students now meet with Scott at his firm, Riverside Academic, to improve SAT/ACT scores and boost math performance.
A true lifelong learner, when Scott is away from Riverside Academic, he can be found studying research on productivity, reading books and blogs by Seth Godin and Tim Ferris, and testing the latest technology to improve everything from his sleep habits to his commute.
