About Me

With over 15 years of experience in one-on-one tutoring, I specialize in helping students succeed on the SAT, ACT, and high school math. I graduated cum laude from Duke University with a degree in Economics and studied at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA. My professional journey began with eight years at IBM and a few small business ventures. Tutoring, which started as a side pursuit, quickly became my calling, and I discovered a passion for teaching students in a one-on-one setting.

What I Offer

I’ve worked with over 1,000 students independently and taught classes with up to 80 students. My approach is deeply personalized, emphasizing that every student’s journey is unique. I take pride in guiding students toward their goals, whether that means Ivy League admissions, gaining a spot at Georgia Tech, or earning scholarships. Since 2020, I’ve been working with students across the U.S., tutoring in Atlanta in person and online when I’m not there.

Standardized Test Prep

When it comes to SAT/ACT preparation, I believe the test doesn’t define the student—it’s just one step toward their goals. My role is to help students maximize their scores, typically over 8-10 weeks, focusing on the "low-hanging fruit" for the most impactful improvements. I guide students on what to master, ignore, or guess on, emphasizing test psychology, strategy, and the specific content needed for each test section. Practice tests are key; they’re the dress rehearsal every student needs before test day.

Math & Academic Tutoring

For math and regular tutoring, I enjoy having the time to go deeper into each concept. Math, from algebra through calculus and statistics, becomes less intimidating when students understand the "why" behind it. I also help students develop effective study strategies using past tests, Desmos graphing, TI calculators, and even AI tools. My ultimate goal is to show students that they’re capable of more than they think, even if the path may look different for each student.

A Personalized, Supportive Approach

I’m also attuned to factors like anxiety, ADHD, or other challenges that may affect performance. With ADHD myself, I understand the need for strategies that go beyond academics, and I share what I’ve learned to help students manage their focus and anxiety.

Why Choose Me?

One of my favorite moments as a tutor is helping students who feel they “aren't math people” see their own potential. I love to remind them that, while rocket science might not be their dream, becoming the numbers expert in their chosen field is invaluable. This unique skill set will make them sought after and valued in their future endeavors. If you’re looking for a dedicated, experienced tutor who can offer more than what large companies provide, I’d be honored to work with you.
